Tips for making long air travel more enjoyable

In many cases, arriving at your dream destination means getting on board a plane. Depending on where you're going, it can take more than 24 hours to get to your luxury hotel or vacation home. In other words, that's a lot of traveling but, that doesn't mean that you have to be miserable the entire time.

MSNBC.com published an article that described some tips on how to make that trip from Denver to Tokyo a bit more enjoyable and recommends that during you're next long flight you:

     ♦ Upgrade your seat
Spending 20 hours in one of Coach's uncomfortable seats with food that doesn't look edible probably doesn't sound like a good time to most people. That is why if you have the opportunity to do so, you should consider upgrading. If you are a frequent traveler and have accumulated many miles, use them to get a seat up in first class or business class.

     ♦ Put down the work
Many people are tempted to get some work done on a long flight. Although this isn't a bad idea, make sure to schedule in some down time. You may find yourself going crazy if you attempt to work for 20 hours straight. Relax a bit. Take advantage of the in-flight entertainment systems, your iPad, earphones, books on tape and whatever else it is that will keep you happy.

     ♦ Don't bring too much
You may tell yourself that you want to bring as much stuff on board with you as you can to keep yourself entertained, but this isn't the best idea. You'll just get stuck putting it under your seat in many cases, which could mean that you'll have less leg room.

Once you've arrived at your destination, you're likely going to be very tired. Don't take a chance driving in an unfamiliar place when you're jetlagged. Instead, rely on an executive transportation service like Hermes Worldwide. Whether you need an airport limo or a luxury sedan, you can rest assured that your chauffeurs will get you where you need to go safely and comfortably.
