According to USA Today Travel, one of the most anticipated hotel openings is on the horizon as the SLS South Beach prepares to start providing accommodations next month.
The hotel will be the second of its kind put together by Sam Nazarian, who opened his first SLS between Beverly Hills and Los Angeles in 2008, the source reports. Last year, he opened the doors of the Redbury in Hollywood, an extended stay hotel that was once an unsuccessful condo building.
Nazarian seems to have knack for renovation, as the $45 million extreme hotel makeover of what used to be the Ritz Plaza looks to set the new standard for extravagant lodging. Nazarian worked with famed designer Philippe Starck and esteemed chef Jose Andres on the SLS South Beach project. Together, they created an environment in the hotel that pays homage to the culture of Miami with a boutique feel, made famous by Starck in the 1980s. Every detail was carefully measured, from the terrazzo floors to Andres' restaurant, Bazaar, that will be in the hotel.
Nazarian told the news source that one of the most important features he wanted the hotel to have was an atmosphere where both families and party goers could co-exist peacefully. To achieve that, the hotel will have two pools.
