However, the Big Apple is making a new name for itself as it was recently named the best city in the United States for corporate business trips and conferences, according to a press release from Jetabroad, an Australian-based global online flight specialist and travel agency.
NYC & Company, the city's official marketing body, stated that the New York's largest city is the perfect place for corporate meetings and conventions based on the amount of venues to hold events, opportunities to network with people and of course and the number of tourist attractions. All of these features, plus the availability of hotels and plans to add even more rooms to existing accommodations, make a perfect combination for businessmen and women.
"The next round of development will add over 6,600 new rooms plus hundreds of renovated rooms back into inventory bringing the total of rooms in active inventory to more than 100,000 by the end of 2014… This is an unparalleled pace of development for a major city or established destination," read a press release from NYC & Company.
NYC looked as though a struggling economy had no effect on the number of visitors in 2011. There were approximately 50 million people who traveled to the city last year, although it is unclear of how many were there on business. By 2015, the press release estimated that the figure would likely increase to 55 million visitors.
