Denver ranked as the 15th best U.S. city for corporate events and meetings

Most people know that Denver, Colorado, is a vibrant city and a jumping off point for travel to beautiful ski resorts all across the state. However, in addition to first-class museums, such as the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and delicious restaurants, like ChoLon Modern Asian Bistro, this capital is making a name for itself for a different reason.

VISIT DENVER, The Convention & Visitors Bureau revealed that in 2010, there were12.7 million overnight visitors that came to this city. This is just one reason that a recent report published by the Denver Business Journal ranked Denver as the 15th-best U.S. city for meetings and events, according to McLean, Virginia-based Cvent Inc, an event management firm that followed the number of inquiries and proposal petitions sent to urban areas in the past year.

The list also took into account the success rate of metropolitan cities in booking large meetings, particularly those that led to hotel room reservations.

''Sometimes cities don't focus on it,'' Eric Eden, Cvent vice president of marketing, said of working side-by-side with meeting planners. "But Denver does focus on it, and that's why they win a lot of times."
